A rescue at sea by your partner or peers can be avoided!
DON'T HIT A SANDBANK!
Check the tides. If you don't know how - just ask me!
LOOK AFTER YOUR BATTERY !
- Your marine battery is your best friend. Without it you doing nowhere fast. Below are some problems that have happened to most boaties I know. Battery maintenance is critical.
- LOOSE BATTERY TERMINALS will cause total failure of equipment. The battery power will drain out completely quicker than you realise. Even if the battery is not on.
- Small shifter needs a permanent home near by.
- DIRTY TERMINALS on your marine battery drains the battery. Power leaks out. Clean rag and sandpaper to clean the terminals is handy.
REVERSING A TRAILER IN 4 EASY STEPS
- Boat ramp etiquette. Get on Get Off. Stopping on the ramp to take straps off is a bad idea. Thats what launching bays are for.
- Call me to arrange a time that suits and practice reversing.
IS YOUR PROPELLER LEFT OR RIGHT HAND SCREWED?
Most Australian design boats are right and many American design boats are left hand screwed. In short, the stern kicks to the starboard(right) when engaged in idle reverse on an american design boat which is left hand screwed mostly.
